I had been to Masago before but it had been a long time. We arrived at around 3:35p and they were closed since they take their dinner break at that time. We waited in the car for them to reopen. We were seated immediately and we asked for some water and my friend ordered an iced tea as well. We looked over the menu and my friend decided on a sweet and savory soup and several rolls. I decided to get the triple combo and ordered some eel from the a la carte portion of the menu. Interestingly, the menu was marked down 50%. We placed our orders and began talking. It is a nice sized space, clean and well maintained. Our food arrived shortly after and it was delicious. It was fresh and our food was very tasty. However, since our food had been marked down 50%, we were asked to tip on the original price of the meal. This was not made evident until the bill arrived and this was written on the bill. Despite this chicanery, it was a very good meal and when in the area, I would once again frequent Masago.

I love it when I get s taste for something and try a new place, and it turns out to be a hit. Masago came highly recommended by a coworker; I shared with her that I had a craving for Sushi, and she suggested I try Masago. She told me she and her boyfriend dine there quite often because the sushi is always fresh and the price is always right. She sold me on the recommendation, and off I went. I was happy to report back to her that Masago was a hit. I must warn you, the menu is quite extensive, so you may have a hard time selecting, but I guess that's the fun of it all. Enjoy

THESE BAD REVIEWS ARE A FARSE! I was a weekly customer at Masago in Great Neck for a decade so when I moved to Oceanside I HAD to try it. You need to know what to expect here, and as a Masago veteran, I was prepared. Is it the best sushi? No. It's good. And it's pretty cheap. Favorites: sushi pizza, salmon toro tartare, rocket roll, and the black bean sauce entree (I like it with tofu). Anyway, service was good. Will be back. Weekly.

I got take out from here almost 2 years ago and remember being very pleased. Fast forward to COVID, I decided to give them another try. I absolutely enjoyed my order - volcano and tiger rolls. Perfect ratio of rice and sushi. I did not like the spring rolls. The rolls were doughy and mushy inside. Per protocol, I got take out. It didn't seem like they were accepting dine-in as there was a table and hanging window separating the cashier from the rest of the restaurant. Definitely call in advance to ask. This spot is in a strip mall so parking is always available. Happy dining!
